James Chalmers, Bookseller, Stationer and Printer - October 1858
This handwritten ledger for the firm of Chalmers gives us an insight into the day to day business of a busy stationer, bookbinder and printer, Kerr and Co., among Chalmbers' clients, were important lawyers who looked after a lot of the town's business. Kerr had ordered 1500 "Road Money Final Notices" to be printed, which would be issued to owners of property in the county of Forfarshire (now Angus).
