Sarum Missal - 1494
This missal would have been used in the great parish church of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which stood next to the surviving Old Steeple. Printed in Venice in 1494, the building it was used in would only have been completed about ten years previously. Dundee at this time was the wealthiest burgh in Scotland second only to Edinburgh, and this wealth was reflected in the books, altar coverings and vestments used.
